REVIEW "Slap bang in the
heart of the city centre, yet totally secluded from the
noise of traffic and late night revellers, this gorgeous
little narrow boat is a wonderful place to stay and offers a
unique insight into life on Birmingham's canals. If
you've ever dreamed of living on a boat but couldn't quite
pick up the courage, a few nights aboard 'Katie' will fuel
your fantasies once more. She is a compact wonder with three
small but cosy rooms decked out with comfy beds, warm floral
curtains and striped wallpapers. The boat just oozes
character and it's easy to slip into romantic daydreams of a
nomadic lifestyle on the waterways as you sit on the deck or
gaze out the windows. It's difficult though to believe
you're in the city centre; the canal basin is protected from
the outside noise and makes a wonderfully quiet retreat from
the city - yet is stumbling distance from Birmingham's best
night life. You may not get an in-room TV or ensuite
bathroom but there's more life and soul in this place than
most of Birmingham's hotels put together."
